American Painter Al Held Has Died in Italy
Held was found dead in his swimming pool in the Umbrian town of Todi, Bill Pepper said. The cause of death has not been determined, he said.

Held, a native of New York City, was considered a leading member of the Minimalist School of painting and held exhibits in both Europe and the United States. He had been living in Italy for the past two decades, Pepper said.
Geometric shapes, plunging and mindboggling disruptions of color and space. Gone now. Also did great prints. Check out some of the Crown Press archive proofs here.
