Bush: Congress can't stop troop increase

He said Iraqis should be thankful for all the United States has done for them since the invasion nearly four years ago.

"I think I am proud of the efforts we did," Bush said.

"We liberated that country from a tyrant. I think the Iraqi people owe the American people a huge debt of gratitude. That's the problem here in America: They wonder whether or not there is a gratitude level that's significant enough in Iraq."

But what can we do about this? We have a completely insane, completely mad King George heading this country with Cheney the Flying Monkey at his side (or rather, in his bunker somewhere).

But it's not just a stupid, fun-to-watch lunacy any longer. It's really, really scary.

As an aside, has he ever defined what "win" means?

Anyway, freezing rain outside right now, supposed to get worse, maybe turn to snow later. Watched the first, highly disturbing 2 hrs of "24" tonight. Gulp. Wonder what happened in the years between end of the last administration and Wayne Palmer's election. Will they tell us?

In other news, made a good big split pea soup I'll work my way thru this week. Yummy. Put a turnip in it (along with the carrots etc.) You would probably be surprised to learn that I actually possess a jar of bay leaves.
