Gallery Mornea Closing
... at end of January, when lease expires.

Just got confirmation email from Dara. This is the second gallery in Evanston to close this year (Gillock closed earlier, tho a branch moved to Ravenswood).

SO, the opening this Friday (6-9) might be one of the last. They have usually shown good artists, and I often drop in if a parking place presents itself as I whizz by. I imagine the lease has to be horrific, however, since it's taking up valuable restaurant space downtown, space that could probably be used for yet another asian-peruvian-icelandic fusion-type place (with a ten buck lunch buffet).

Was supposed to be interviewed by a woman from Northwestern University this afternoon, but I don't know what happened to her. Drat. Did the roots and everything for nothing.
