Columnist Paul Krugman wins Nobel economics prize
Finally! A day worth waking up for:
Columnist Paul Krugman wins Nobel economics prize
Krugman has been a harsh critic of the Bush administration and the Republican Party in The New York Times, where he writes a regular column and has a blog called "Conscience of a Liberal."They should also mention that he writes about economic matters in his columns so that ordinary humans, and possibly even McCain himself, if he tried, can understand something of the complexity and policy problems of economics. I don't think I've ever missed one of his columns since the NYT has appeared online, even when they were making us pay for subscriptions.
He has come out forcefully against John McCain during the economic meltdown, saying the Republican candidate is "more frightening now than he was a few weeks ago" and earlier that the GOP has become "the party of stupid."
I even wrote a poem about him. Yes, I really did, tho I can't prove it since it's on the computer that died and I never printed a copy. So you'll have to trust me, until I get enough money to try to get the thing fixed, if possible.
And the next best reason for waking up....
EARLY VOTING STARTS TODAY IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS!!!
Check the links on the side for more info. In aome Illinois counties you'll have to wait until tomorrow because of the Columbus Day holiday.
If you're off work today (either thanks to Columbus or thanks to the FAILED BUSH REPUBLICAN POLICIES), it's a great day to go vote!
